How to get Qmodem to automatically read the filename off the
screen when doing a download.
Problem : This is the second most asked question in the Qmodem
Conference. People would get ahold of one of the past BETA
copies that had a feature that would auto select the last
filename on the screen for use in the Download File
Allocation Window and now complain because it is not
working in the production 3.1 release.
Answer : Well, as most of you already know, I do NOT support any
BETA version of Qmodem. So, I do not guarantee that any
one feature may finally make it into the final version.
But, this "feature" is in 3.1, you just have to READ the
DOC file or the SCREEN when you press PgDn or PgUp!!
When the file allocation window is on the screen and you
are in non-BIOS screen write mode, the status line says to
press the "+" (PLUS) key to get Qmodem to scan the screen
for the last filename! If that is not the correct
filename, you can then press the UP-ARROW and make it look
farther up the screen for the filename. If it runs out of
screen before you select a file, the allocation window will
reappear waiting for you to type one in.
